Artist and tutor
Feona is a Bristol based artist who has exhibited extensively across the South of England. Fortunately for us she is also a very old friend and a true Northener.
Feona’s fascination and love of powerful skies with rich landscapes dates from her childhood in Northumberland. After gaining a BA (Hons) in Textile Design she initially pursued a career in design. This experience taught her about the importance of colour and space in a commercial world, but, more importantly, created the desire to be free to paint.
After time spent in Canada soaking up the vast landscapes and pure air Feona returned to the UK and has since taught art in secondary education and painted full time. Feona works in a variety of medium but mainly in oil paints. Her current body of work seeks to explore the feel of unchallenged space and deep interwoven colours to form strong and often abstract landscapes.
Artist and tutor
Jane is an experienced adult tutor whose teaching is rooted in the practicalities of her life as a working artist. She has spent many years encouraging and supporting the aspirations of a great variety of students. Her aim is to create a supportive but dynamic atmosphere where students are able to focus on their own creativity. She offers support, encouragement and challenge to fellow artists on the road to their own discoveries.
Jane uses a variety of painting and drawing media both out of doors and in the studio and is planning a programme of Workshops at Fine Studios in 2017.
